The second of the poems from the other night.  I was thinking of someone quite a lot at the time, but it's not really meant to be about anyone.  It just ended up that way.

When your feet dance to the ocean,
When your eye dance to the sea,
Sure as the waves that never tire,
You’ll dance right back to me.

When you hands clap out the rhythm.
When your laugh rings out with glee,
Sure as the birds that fly above,
You’ll laugh right back to me.

When your lips chafe from the kissing,
When your heart beats a silent plea,
Sure as the love that burns inside,
You’ll kiss right back to me.

A few days ago I couldn't get to sleep.  So I ended up writing stuff instead.  From all the rubbish that I scrawled there are two poems that I'm pleased with.  This is the first:

Let the stars guide my path as I wander,
Let the grass be my bed when I sleep,
Let the snow fall soft as I linger,
Cold breeze be kind as my darling,
Kiss my brow as you pass me by.

Let the rivers run slow as I wander,
Let the streams all flow clear when I drink,
Let the rain fall soft as I linger,
Cold breeze be kind as my darling,
Kiss my brow as you pass me by.

Let the mountains rise above as I wander,
Let the forests shade me when I rest,
Let the blossom fall soft as I linger
Cold breeze be kind as my darling,
Kiss my brow as you pass me by.

Let the green hills roll on as I wander,
Let the ground ‘neath stay firm when I walk,
Let the leaves fall soft as I linger,
Cold breeze be kind as my darling,
Kiss my brow as you pass me by.

Let the stars guide my path as I wander,
Let the grass be my bed when I sleep,
Let the snow fall soft as I linger,
Cold breeze be kind as my darling,
Kiss my brow as you pass me by.

This is part of a background for a character that will probably never get played.  It's a song sung to young warriors before they go off to war.  The last verse is only sung after they have all left.

From the North come I,
Battle-hardened and ready,
I march with my brethren,
To the Valley of Blood,
And face our foe.

Through the dark come I,
Breath forming in the air,
I hide my brethren well,
In the mouth of the valley,
To wait for death.

Into sight come they,
Panting from the long journey,
They form and raise blades,
And vow to their chieftain,
To bleed us dry.

From the mouth come I.
Freeing my warcry to the wind,
I lead my brethren forth,
Into the teeth of the enemy,
To spill our life.

FOR THE EARTHFIRE!

Victorious home come I,
Less one leg and bloody,
I drag my brethren home,
Back to the Earthfire,
To tell our tale.

Victorious home come I.
